Biography
Adrienne Chadwick is a classically trained painter currently exploring conceptual art through a variety of media. Installations produced from small objects such as hand-made textile sculptures to obscure found objects are amassed into larger compositions.
Adrienne was exposed to art and culture at an early age in her multiethnic household. She studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago before receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from New World School of the Arts. During her undergraduate education, her schedule allowed for daily wanderings though Downtown Miami and its surrounding areas. The yin and yang of Wynwood/ Edgewater’s urban grit, empty lots, and multicolored warehouses framed by the endless hues of blue found in the Miami sky and Biscayne Bay enchanted her. Soon after, in 2005 she moved to the area where she soon set up shop at the 2020 Studios in Wynwood.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Adrienne has spent most of her life in sunny South Florida. Her life as an artist runs parallel to her life as an Arts Administrator. Adrienne began teaching and developing art programs in 1994 for the City of Miramar’s Cultural Arts Camp, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward, Miami Children’s Museum and The Art Gallery of Ontario. She joined Young At Art Children’s Museum in 1995 and has served as the Director of Education since 2006.
